Hemingway’s Brewery hosted the region’s first craft distilling festival in June 2022 at its historic waterfront location in Cairns. Tropic Studio was tasked with creating the visual identity for the event, conveying a welcoming, expressive, and vibrant atmosphere.
Supported by local distillers from the FNQ Brewers and Distillers Guild, the Festival of Spirits is set to become an annual event on the city’s calendar.
We worked with Hemingway's Brewery to develop a brand identity as well as event creative for the inaugural festival with future application and relevance in mind.
We created a triptych series of mixed media posters using rich colours and loose typography to embody the event’s high energy and tropical feel, while simultaneously allowing for creative evolution for future events.
To market the day, we created a range of advertisments and collateral that effectively transferred across print and digital platforms, with all outlets showcasing the aspirational atmosphere of the event.
The marketing campaign required a synchronised multi-platform approach to ensure its' first year was a success.
This comprised of print and digital editorial features in Tropic magazine and Tropic Now, various social and EDM promotions and inclusions, and the aforementioned print and digital ads.
All aspects of the campaign contributed to the development and estbalishment of brand identity - ensuring current participation, future recognition, and event longevity.
